Day +83
Sorry its been a week since we posted. We have not realy had a lot to post about, which is a good thing. Nick had his doctor appointment yesterday and is still doing well. He has been doing six hours per week of school instruction for the past few weeks.
The doctors are starting to mention us coming home. As long as he continues to do well, we should be home by the end of the month. His primary care would be transfered back to Akron Children's Hospital with a once a month visit back to Cincinnati. Once we get home, he will still be confined to our home with isolation from visitors, but it will sure make his and our life much easier.
They are going to do a Bone Marrow Aspiration sometime this week They want to check his new marrow to see how the cells are maturing. We have also asked them to remove his central lines. The central lines being in his chest increases the risk of infection. The draw back of having them removed is that he will have to be stuck a few times per week for blood draws and the IVIG that he still needs.
We will post again when we know the day he will have his aspiration and the line removed. Both are considered surgical procedures.
Thanks for checking in......
